Planning workshops are broken into two 4 hour days. The first day we will set the foundation, analyze the previous year and focus on identifying your core four. That afternoon I will take this information and build day two that is focused on what matters to your team or organization so you walk away with a roadmap to making the next year transformational.
A day-long strategic planning session is a dynamic and collaborative experience designed to help an association’s leadership align around a shared vision, assess current progress, and create a clear, actionable roadmap for the future. The day typically begins by setting the foundation—reviewing the current mission, vision, and core values, discussing key insights from pre-session surveys, and celebrating recent wins while identifying present challenges. From there, participants engage in meaningful dialogue, including a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats), discussions around member engagement and value, and consideration of external factors like market shifts and community impacts. These conversations are often supported by small group breakout sessions that allow for diverse voices and fresh perspectives to surface. In the afternoon, the focus shifts to building the roadmap—clarifying three to five strategic priorities, setting measurable goals, assigning leadership roles, and identifying success metrics. The goal is to leave the session with more than just ideas; participants walk away with a focused plan for the next 1–3 years, a renewed sense of purpose, clear accountability, and stronger alignment across board, staff, and key members. Ultimately, the session is designed to energize leadership, strengthen commitment, and equip the association with the clarity and direction needed to thrive in the years ahead.
